ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday admitted a petition seeking eviction of some private educational institutions from F-8.

IHC Justice Aamer Farooq heard the petition and sought reply from respondents, including Capital Development Authority (CDA), Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (Peira) and some private schools in Sector F-8, in a fortnight.

The petition said the private schools had virtually destroyed the peace of the locality especially during the morning and afternoon.

The establishment of private schools, colleges and tuition academies in residential houses in F-8 by the respondents (educational institutions) is a flagrant violation of Islamabad’s master plan, CDA’s by-laws and the Islamabad Residential Sector Zoning (Building Control) Regulation 2005, the petition alleged.

It said that the respondents were not performing their due role for the “prevention of this horrible menace” and the commercial activity in the form of educational institutions in the residential area was on its peak.

According to the petition, the residents have sent an application on March 18 to CDA and Peira for the redress of their grievances but to no avail.

It requested the court to direct the CDA to launch an operation against the educational institutions set up in the residential houses of Sector F-8 and ensure implementation of CDA’s ordinance of 1960 and other laws.
