Eight injured on road

LANDI KOTAL: Eight passengers were injured when a van collided with car in Jamrud here on Thursday.

The Khasadar officials said that the accident took place on the main Peshawar-Torkham highway near Ali Masjid. The injured were taken to a local hospital. They said that the accident occurred due to speeding.

Meanwhile, the Jamrud political administration arrested a Khasadar official and lodged him in the Jamrud lockup for misuse of official authority. Officials said that a Khasadar party, led by Malik Zakir and Akhtar Munir, started dismantling solar panels fixed atop some shops near Jamrud stadium on the pretext of removing encroachments. On the traders protest, Zakir was sent to the lockup.
