MUZAFFARABAD: A young boy was injured in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) due to firing from across the Line of Control (LoC) on Sunday.

Shahbaz Mushtaq, 11, was playing in the courtyard of his house in Samahni sector of Bhimber district when he fell victim to the Indian firing at about 3pm, deputy commissioner Chaudhry Guftar said.

Official sources said that Indian troops also “heavily” shelled Battal sector of Poonch district at about the same time “without any provocation”, but fortunately no casualties occurred in the area.

Residents in Khilana valley said their area also experienced cross-border shelling, but there were no casualties.
