RAWALPINDI: A man was stabbed to death in Kahuta, allegedly by his brother over a property dispute, while another man was shot by unidentified individuals in the Naseerabad area on Sunday, police said.

Fareed Akhtar, 60, was allegedly stabbed to death by his younger brother over a property dispute, police said.

They said the victim was killed while passing through a deserted area, and was being chased by his brother. Police said the victim died on the spot and the killer escaped with the murder weapon.

Separately, a man in his 50s was shot and killed by unidentified individuals in the Naseerabad area early Sunday morning.

Lal Khan, the father of the deceased, told the police that his son Rehmat Khan, who lived with him, left the house after midnight to go to a nearby grocery store and had not returned by sehri.

He said he left to go to the same store at sehri and found people gathered in the street around his son, who was injured.

He said Khan was taken to the District Headquarters Hospital but died before he reached the hospital.

Police said the motive behind the murder has not yet been ascertained, but a murder case has been registered against unidentified individuals and an investigation has begun.
