SWABI: Three people were injured in a cylinder blast in an overcrowded market in Topi tehsil main bazaar here on Thursday.

There are numerous liquid petroleum gas (LPG) filling shops continuing the illegal business in the local bazaars. The unlawful activity increases in Ramazan because the women like to prepare food with the use of small gas cylinders.

It has been learnt that a vendor was filling a cylinder in the busy Abaseen Market when an explosion occurred. As a result, Anwar Khan, Mohammad Shahzad and Kamran Khan were seriously injured. They were taken to the Topi civil hospital.

Meanwhile, the illegal practice of transferring gas is becoming common, leading to several incidents. LPG is transferred from big gas cylinders to other cylinders for domestic and commercial purposes.
