KHAR: The Bajaur Agency political administration on Monday claimed to have recovered nine remote-controlled bombs from an urban locality in Khar tehsil.

Political agent Abdul Amir Khattak told reporters that the remote-controlled bombs were recovered from Khairabad area, which is four kilometres from Khar, on Monday afternoon. He said that the bombs, which had been planted in different places were recovered during a search operation carried out by the bomb disposal squad of Bajaur Levies Force upon the information of a federal intelligence agency.

He mentioned that each bomb weighed at least five kilogramme, and claimed that the bombs could have caused widespread destruction had they not been timely recovered and defused.

The political agent expressed the hope that the agency would soon be rid of all the anti-state elements.
