Trader shot dead

LAHORE: A trader was shot dead by two gunmen on Monday in a robbery in Gujjarpura, police said.

Muzamil, a trader in the Janipura market, was at his shop when the two gunmen demanded cash and mobile phone from him.

On his resistance, the armed people shot at and injured Muzamil and after taking cash, mobile phones and other valuables fled the scene. Muzamil suffered critical injuries and was taken to Mayo Hospital where he died.

Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy and later registered a case.

FOUND DEAD: A young woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Iqbal Town on Monday.

Police said Ali, of Huma Block in Iqbal Town, got admitted Kinza (30) to Farooq Hospital for treatment and fled.

Police said the woman was soon declared dead.

The hospital staff alerted the police, which shifted the body to morgue for autopsy, collected forensic evidences from the scene and recorded statements of the eye-witnesses.

In charge of investigation Muhammad Siddique said the autopsy report would help police ascertain exact cause of the death while adding they were waiting for the heirs to complete legal formalities to register the case.
