BUNER: A mother of five was shot dead in the wee hours of Thursday allegedly by her in-laws for ‘honour’ here in the jurisdiction of Pir Baba police station.

An official of the police station said that the victim was wife of one Ayub Khan, a resident of Dengan Ghazikhanay, who was presently working in a Middle Eastern country. He said that the woman was allegedly killed by her brother-in-law Naseeb Khan and his son Afsar Khan.

A brother of the deceased woman has lodged an FIR against the suspects. He reported to the police that a few days ago one Nazeer Mohammad of Badul Mor area was killed by unidentified persons. The FIR of the occurrence was lodged by Bakht Zareen, father of Nazeer.

During the course of investigation the police had allegedly traced certain pictures of the deceased woman in the cell phone of Nazeer. In this connection, the police had summoned both the woman and her brother-in-law Naseeb Khan.

An official said that after initial interrogation they were allowed to go on surety given by notables of the area, but Naseeb Khan was asked by the police not to harm the woman.

However, he said, the suspects fired at the woman, which resulted in her death. The police have registered the FIR under Section 302 of Pakistan Penal Code. They said that the suspects would be arrested soon.
