GWADAR: The district election office was attacked by militants with a hand grenade in Turbat town on Thursday.

According to the police, the grenade exploded in the courtyard, damaging some parts of the election office.

“Windowpanes of the office were shattered, while doors and walls were damaged in the grenade attack,’’ said the police, adding that no casualty was reported in the attack as no one was present inside the office when the grenade explo­ded. Police laun­ched a search operation in the area after the attack.
