CHARSADDA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has announced reward of Rs5 million for Tangi police for foiling the suicide attack on tehsil courts.

Talking to journalists during his visit to tehsil courts in Tangi on Wednesday, he said that terrorists wanted unrest in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He visited the barroom and civil secretariat.

The chief minister also announced Shuhada package for the families of the victims of the attack. He said that provincial government was implementing National Action Plan and action against militants was underway in parts of the province. He urged nation to unite against terrorism.

Earlier, addressing the people gathered at the inaugural ceremony of Canal Road in Charsadda, the chief minister said that certain politicians and their cronies entered into plea bargain with National Accountability Bureau but they were still flashing a victory sign.

Khattak says provincial govt implementing NAP

He said that PTI came into power in the name of change and took various measures for transparency, merit and justice besides elimination of corruption. He said that political interference in affairs of government departments, corruption and nepotism during the previous governments ruined institutions besides tarnishing the image of Pakhtuns.

Mr Khattak claimed that PTI introduced such a system in the province that would not allow the coming governments to even think of corruption or nepotism.

He said that western route became an integral part of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor that would boost trade and industrial activities in the province. He said that agreement was signed with China for setting up industrial zones at Jalozai over 4,000-kanal.

The chief minister said that they fought for rights of the province and succeeded to enhance net hydel profit from Rs6 billion to Rs18 billion annually.

He said that he also got approved Chasma irrigation scheme, a project of Rs120 billion.

Mr Khattak also announced a developmental package for district Charsadda that included upgradation of the district hospital to A Category with all specialty and services.

Meanwhile, attendance in schools remained thin while bazaars wore a deserted look in Charsadda, Tangi and other towns on Wednesday.

Chief minister Parvez Khattak, Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Yahya Afridi and leaders of different political parties visited the homes of the victims of blast.

The PHC chief justice also visited the district courts and appreciated the courage of policemen, who aborted the attack of the terrorists.

Meanwhile, Charsadda District Bar Association in a meeting here on Wednesday chaired by its president Inamullah announced to boycott courts for three days and urged government to provide foolproof security to the courts.
