SUKKUR: Majlis-i-Wahdatul Muslimeen Sindh secretary general Maulana Maqsood Ali Domki has said that the militant Islamic State group (IS) is involved in the Lal Shahbaz Qalandar shrine suicide attack.

He said at a news conference at the press club on Monday that the government knew about the funding being made to terrorists and about the presence of terrorists in Shikarpur and Jacobabad but no action was taken against them.

He said the Sindh government had given a list of 94 seminaries allegedly involved in the training of terrorists to the federal government but to no avail.

He accused Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and former Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah of having meetings with leaders of banned outfits. But the government did not take its notice, he said, adding the government failure to punish culprits involved in terror incidents had disappointed the relatives of victims.

The MWM would hold ‘Tahaffuz Mazaraat Auliya Allah Conference’ in Sehwan on Feb 23 to condemn terrorism and religious hatred and organise a similar conference in Kunb, Khairpur, on Feb 26, he said.
