LAHORE: The chief minister has ordered reconstitution of the Saaf Pani Company’s board of directors (BoD).

A decision to this effect has been taken in the light of suggestions put forward by participants in a seminar on clean drinking water held in the city the previous week.

A handout says the chief minister chaired a high-level meeting here to review strategy on the provision of potable water. He approved the meeting’s consensus that the Saaf Pani board should be reconstituted and services of experienced world experts be hired.

Seeking action on the recommendations within seven days, he said the project had already been delayed due to “inefficient” and “negligent” former officials of the company.

He warned that those responsible for the delay would be held accountable.Chairing a meeting on healthcare system, the chief minister announced giving province-wide coverage to the Prime Minister’s National Health Programme.

He also announced provision of CT scan machines to all DHQs. The machines will be outsourced.

The project of 100-bed mother and childcare hospital in Murree was also discussed in the meeting. He also ordered geo-tagging of the hospital.
