Kite-flying ban: 58 arrested

LAHORE: Police arrested on Monday 58 people for flying kites and manufacturing twines and kites in 54 cases.

Police also seized 200 kites, rolls and strings from them.

A spokesperson for the police said they had launched a crackdown on the people involved in selling and flying kites in the city.

He said they would not allow anyone to fly kites because the government had imposed ban on kite flying in the city.

The drive is in the backdrop of a warning by the chief minister to police on kite-flying incidents.

He warned that violation would never be tolerated, ordering the police to take a stern action into the issue.
