Flight PK661 flew from Islamabad to Peshawar and then moved on to Chitral, where it landed at 1pm.

An ATR plane was used to conduct this flight which carried 48 passengers, including the flight crew.

The same ATR will take off from Chitral at 3:50pm to reach Islamabad.

A flight enquiry official talked to DawnNews and confirmed that no tickets were cancelled or withdrawn in light of the Dec 7 plane crash.

Initial police report filed

Engine malfunction caused the crash: Civil Aviation Authority

The Pakistan International Airlines ATR-42 that crashed into the mountains near Havelian on Wednesday had been flying smoothly at 13,375 feet when its left engine malfunctioned, exploded and damaged a wing, an initial inquiry report by the Civil Aviation Authority available with Dawn says.

The crash resulted in the death of all 48 passengers on board.

So far PIA has not released any report on the cause of the crash. Earlier it had said the real cause of the accident would only be determined once the data from the black box had been analysed.
