DERA MURAD JAMALI: An attempt by militants to target the shrine of Pir Ziarat in Sui area of Dera Bugti District was foiled by the security forces by defusing an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on Thursday.

The locally made IED, weighing about 10kg, had been planted near the shrine of Pir Ziarat on the outskirts of the Sui town.

“The Frontier Corps personnel defused the IED after getting a tip-off about it,” a spokesman for FC said. He said the IED was planted to target vehicles of security personnel as well as civilians.

Meanwhile, a man died and four others were arrested in an armed encounter with security forces in Chatter area of Nasirabad district.
