NOWSHERA: Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said here on Sunday that it was better not to cast vote than supporting corrupt politicians in elections.

Addressing different public meetings here at Akbarpura, Pir Paye, Badrashi and Armour Colony, he said that the Awami National Party and Pakistan Peoples Party were defeated in the last elections as the two parties had damaged their own reputation through bad governance.

He alleged that ANP had looted the national exchequer with both hands during its tenure. “I will leave politics if anyone proved corruption of a single penny against me,” he said.

Claims sensible people leaving other parties to join PTI

Mr Khattak said that the provincial government had blocked the door of corruption in future by passing different laws in this regard. He said that people could protect their future by not supporting corrupt leaders and parties. He said that if corruption was a skill then his party did not have such a skill.

Mr Khattak alleged that the PML-N government had crossed the limit of corruption in the country and this was why sensible people of other political parties were joining PTI.

He said that PTI would continue its struggle against corrupt elements and root out the menace from society. He claimed that PTI would form the next government in the centre and provinces on the basis of its performance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The chief minister said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would have to explain his position about how he collected the money for buying flats in London.

He said that his government was taking steps for providing quality education and better health services to the people.

Mr Khattak said that through reforms the PTI-led government had given a new direction to the society. He said that the provincial government had appointed 45,000 teachers of different cadres to provide better education facilities in the public sector schools.

Provincial minister Jamshaiduddin, MNA Imran Khattak and district nazim Laiquat Khattak were also present on the occasion.
