KARACHI: Kareem Gul on Sunday outplayed Humayun Ayub in the 55-plus singles semi-final while Asad Ali Bhagat beat Ali Bhagat in straight sets in the pre-final of 35-plus category here in the first Karachi Gymkhana Toyota Pakistan ITF Seniors tennis tournament.

In the exciting 55-plus doubles contest, the pair of Fawad Ijaz and Khawaja Mansoor beat Noorullah Dhanani and Kareem Gul after a tough fight.

Results:

Men’s doubles 55-plus (first round): Fawad Ijaz Khan and Khawaja Masroor bt Noorullah Dhanani and Kareem Gul 6-4, 1-6, 10-7.

Men’s singles 55-plus (semi-final): Kareem Gul bt Humayun Ayub 6-2, 6-2.

Men’s singles 35-plus (semi-final): Asad Ali Bhagat bt Ali Bhagat 6-3, 6-1.

Men’s singles 60-plus (round robin): Sabih Wali bt Gul Hameed 6-3, 7-5

Soft tennis (semi-finals): Eibad Sarwar Hussain bt Saad Muhammad Ali 8-6.

Ladies singles (quarter-finals): Eraj Batool Zaidi bt Eshmal Khan 8-0; Tehreem bt Sabrina 8-4; Varisha bt Yumna 8-0. U-15 semi-finals: Asim Gul bt Syed Mohammad Oanuddin 6-3, 7-6(2); Yahya Khan bt Mohammad Farooq Atiq 6-0, 6-2

U-17 semi-finals: Eibad Sarwar Hussain bt Sahibzada Mubeen 6-1, (retired); Hasan Farooq bt Parbat Kumar 6-7, 6-2, 10-6.
