KARACHI: A book Mulaqatain kiya kiya, authored by Altaf Hasan Quraishi, was appreciated at a ceremony at the Faran Club on Saturday.

Organised by the Faran Club, Irfan Siddiqui, special assistant to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, presided over the programme. Mujeebur Rehman Shami, Sajjad Mir, Irshad Kaleemi, Dr Fatema Hasan, Khwaja Razi Hyder, Shahid Hashmi, Dr Tahir Masood, Rauf Tahir, Aneeq Ahmed, Mohammad Akram Chaudhry and Naseer Ahmed Saleemi spoke at the ceremony.

The audience was informed that the book was a compilation of some of the most important interviews conducted by Mr Quraishi during his journalistic career spanned over decades. The interviews written as sketches included those of Maulana Abu-al-Ala Maududi, Gen Zia ul Haq, Sheikh Mujibur Rehman, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, King Shah Faisal, etc.
