MINGORA: Police here on Thursday claimed to have arrested a wanted militant for his involvement in anti-state activities.

According to the Counter Terrorism Department, Swat, the police arrested a militant Gul Rahman, a resident of Durush Khela area in Matta tehsil. He was, reportedly, a local leader and a treasurer of the TTP Swat chapter and provided services in financial matter to the militants, they said.

The CTD police said that Gul Rehman was wanted to the law-enforcement agencies for his alleged involvement in anti-state-activities. They said that he was reportedly involved in carrying out an attack on security forces in 2008 in which five personnel were wounded.
