KARACHI: Faisalabad earned a handy 68-run lead by reaching 272-8 in their first innings against Karachi Whites on the second day of the second triangular fixture in the PCB Inter-region Under-19 (Three-day) Cricket Tournament on Sunday.

By stumps at the Mirpur Cricket Stadium, defending champions Karachi Whites had advanced to 147-3 in their second innings to be in front by 75 runs with Ammad Alam and skipper Hasan Mohsin at the crease with 42 apiece.

Resuming at 120-2, Faisalabad owed their strong position to skipper Shahid Khan who struck eight boundaries in a top-score of 78 from 167 deliveries.

Mohammad Saleem also made an invaluable contribution of 48 with his 110-ball laced with six fours, Mujtaba Hasan hit a 60-ball 42 with the aid of seven boundaries.

For Karachi Whites, Hasan Mohsin grabbed two wickets for 15 runs, Ammad Alam 2-41 and Mohammad Hassaan Khan 2-78.
