PESHAWAR: A special economic zone as envisioned by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC) entered into its implementation stage in Hattar Haripur on Friday.

The company organised an event at Hattar Special Economic Zone, where plots were handed over to as many as 29 industrialists for construction purposes, said an official statement issued here.

The possession of plots was given to industrialists hailing from diverse sectors, including engineering, packaging, food, marble and granite, steel, mineral grinding, electronics, pharmaceuticals, chemical, plastic and ware housing.

The industrialists have been selected on the basis of their feasibility plan and ability to start production in maximum period of two years.

The chief guest of the event, Abdul Karim Khan, special advisor to the CM on industries, appreciated the efforts of the team and said that KPEZDMC had been successful in not only drawing industrialists towards investment in KP but had also delivered on its promises by facilitating all the operations related to the economic zone in Haripur.
