Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) leader Mustafa Kamal speaking to the press on Thursday called on Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad to form a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) and inquiry commission to probe the allegations of corruption he levelled against Kamal a day earlier.

Kamal presented four demands, calling for the arrest of Ishratul Ibad and the placement of his name on the Exit Control List. He added that the government should show Ibad's British passport to the nation and asked for the formation of a JIT to probe allegations of corruption levelled against him a day earlier by Ibad.

"I demand the formation of a JIT. Ishratul Ibad is the governor. He should make the JIT."

"I am not afraid of anyone," he said, adding that the Sindh governor ─ who he referred to as 'Rishwatul Ibad' ─ was trying to hide his misdeeds.

"He said the 2007 cases would be reopened. In 2007, the governor dealt with Karachi administration... The JIT report is here, all the meetings would happen in Governor House," Kamal claimed.

The governor said 'We knew this would happen,' Kamal said, referring to the 2007 incident. "How did you know?" Kamal asked. "What did you know of the people who were going to die? You were at your post and yet you didn't raise your voice. You killed those people," he said, pointing the finger of blame at Ibad.

Furthermore, Kamal added, the governor spoke of how officials from "sensitive institutions" who were appointed to JITs had their names "whito-ed" (eradicated) from the list of officials appointed to probe the incident.

"Top ranking officials of sensitive institutions are involved in these JITs," he said. "What are you trying to say? That they 'white-o' their names? I need to find out the answer to this question."

"If the governor is erasing names [from JITs], there should be an investigation into this. The governor should be arrested and questioned."

"He [Ibad] took the names of the chief of army staff, corps commander, DG Rangers and said 'We are all on the same page'," Kamal said.

"Ishratul Ibad is trying to hide his misdeeds by shielding himself with their credibility," he alleged.

Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad during a press conference on Wednesday termed Kamal "a dishonourable, mean, low and bipolar" man, alleging that the PSP chief indulged in massive corruption during his tenure as Karachi mayor.

Ibad referred to Kamal as Mustafa 'Kudal', accusing him of plundering Karachi and sending money to Malaysia and London.

Earlier on Monday, Ibad and Kamal traded barbs after the former Karachi mayor accused the governor of stopping several lawmakers from joining the PSP, indulging in corruption and providing "oxygen" to MQM founder Altaf Hussain after his incendiary Aug 22 speech ─ allegations the governor rejected.
