CHITRAL: Federal Minister for Housing and Works Akram Khan Durrani has accused PTI chief Imran Khan of destabilising the country by his negative politics.

He said PTI had failed to deliver good governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which Imran Khan had pledged to the people within first 90 days of his government.

Addressing a public meeting at Chitral polo ground here on Sunday, he accused PTI of promoting vulgarity and corrupt practices in the name of ‘change’.

Mr Durrani claimed that people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had now realised that it was the MMA government that had brought a real change in their lives during its tenure.

“The MMA government had initiated mega projects like exploration of natural gas in the southern districts and initiation of hydropower projects like Malakand phase-III project,” he recalled.

The federal minister said that the CPEC project was aimed at changing the fate of Pakistan as it would create hundreds of thousands of job opportunities.

However, he alleged that the US and India were trying to thwart the project.

Mr Durrani announced to start the prime minister’s five-marla housing project from Chitral to provide shelter to those who had been rendered homeless by the devastating floods of last year.

Earlier, addressing the meeting, JUI-F provincial emir Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan said that his party was always on the frontline to resist those who wanted to change the identity of the country and undermine Islamic values.

He said the party was going to hold a big gathering of workers in April next in connection with the 100-year celebrations of the party’s foundation.

Party’s district emir Qari Abdur Rahman Qureshi and district naib nazim Maulana Abdul Shakoor also spoke on the occasion.
