QUETTA: A ‘commander’ of a banned Baloch militant organisation was killed in an exchange of fire with security forces in Dera Murad Jamali area of Nasirabad district, a spokesman for Frontier Corps Balochistan announced on Sunday.

The spokesman said that security forces fought a gun battle with armed militants on the outskirts of Dera Murad Jamali, killing ‘commander’ Zafar Bugti.

Giving details of the clash, the spokesman said that the FC personnel had launched a search operation in Dera Murad Jamali area on a tip-off about presence of some armed militants in the area.
