CHAKWAL: Nine people including four women were killed in separate incidents during Eid holidays in Chakwal.

In one incident in Takia Shahmurad village located in the jurisdiction of Dohman Police Station where a man axed his wife to death over domestic dispute.

According to police, the couple often quarreled as the man could not meet expenses due to poverty. On Thursday morning they again exchanged hot words which enraged the husband who took out an axe and killed his wife and escaped. Dohman police have registered a case and started efforts to arrest the killer.

Three women were killed when roof of their room collapsed in Dhoke Lari village located in the jurisdiction of Kallar Kahar police station. Rehmat Bibi, 45, along with her daughter Ansar Bibi and another relative Zaitoon Bibi were present in the room when its roof caved in after a storm killing them on the spot.

Hamad Nazeer, Zulqurnain and Ans Mehmmod drowned while bathing in lake.

Babar Hussain, a resident of Sohawa village, was bitten by a snake. He was rushed to District Headquarters Hospital. He was then referred to Rawalindi but expired on the way.

Zohaib,16, a resident of Wasnal village died when his motorbike rammed into another motorcycle.
