ISLAMABAD: Jawad Blunt from Lahore displayed amazing football control to keep a large crowed mesmerised here on Thursday night as he was crowned Pakistan’s Red Bull Street Style Champion 2016.

Jawad will now represent the country in Red Bull Street Style World Finals which will be held in London on Nov 7-8 where some of the best freestylers from across the globe will assemble on one stage to showcase their unique, signature free-styling moves.

The final showdown of the Red Bull Street Style Pakistan edition held here at Centaurus Mall attracted top freestylers from Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.

The event kicked-off with the Islamabad qualifier Sheheryar emerging as the winner from the capital. The final leg was contested between Lahore’s Haider Lucky and Islamabad’s Arsalan Iqbal in which the latter was declared the winner. This was followed by a face-off between Danny from Karachi and Sheheryar from Islamabad. After this Arsalan Iqbal was called on to challenge Jawad Blunt from Lahore. Both displayed great freestyling skills but Jawad stood out and won more points over Arsalan.

The final showdown was between Sheheryar and Jawad where the latter outperformed his rival with some breathtaking football control in front of a large crowd and won the championship. Speaking to Dawn, Jawad said that he wanted to bring laurel for the country in upcoming international event.

“I’m so happy after this achievement because for the first time, I will represent the country at international level which is a big honor for me,” he said.
