ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf's (PTI) Jahangir Tareen on Sunday said the party will not be going to Raiwind for vandalism or riots, rather the purpose is to protest in front of the premier’s residence.

“The idea behind running the anti-government movement is to keep the public aware of the corruption done by the rulers,” said Tareen while speaking on DawnNews Dusra Rukh.

The PTI leader assured that the party’s protest at Raiwind will be peaceful, and gave the example of their recent Lahore rally.

He added that the issue of Panama Papers is still alive and has not been forgotten.

Answering a question regarding party chief Imran Khan’s allegations against the chairman of the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR), Tareen claimed the party has strong evidence in support of their claim.

“The information was shared by a credible person who is close to the matter,” said the PTI leader.

“If inquiry is conducted against the chairman of FBR, we can provide evidence against him at any competent forum” Tareen said.

Tareen also added that the FBR is politically targeting him due to his close association with Imran Khan and PTI.

Tareen also said he would share all the details with FBR as he has already declared ownership of an offshore company for business purposes on the advise of his lawyers.

However, PML-N’s Mushahidullah said during the show that the prime minister will not reply to the four questions asked by PTI chairman Imran Khan during the rally in Lahore.

“We are not bound to respond to the queries put forth by a person who himself is corrupt,” Mushahidullah said, adding that we (PML-N) will only respond to the Supreme Court when asked to.

Mushahidullah lashed out at PTI’s leadership for introducing new trends of protests by marching towards the residences of leaders, and added that PML-N too has “trained workers who know self defence”.

The PML-N leader blamed the PTI and PAT for following an anti-Pakistan agenda and disrupting progress in the nation.

In response to regarding PPP’s call for a show of strength after mid-September, Mushahidullah said the PPP lacks the street power for the purpose.

Earlier, in his rally at Lahore, Imran Khan accused National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry of doing money laundering.

He alleged that PML-N is destroying the institutions to avoid accountability. "I warn the monarchy of Sharifs that our protest is peaceful, so they better not provoke us," he maintained.

The PTI chairman feared that if PML-N manages to avoid accountability in Panama Papers issue, "they will also rig the next election with this looted money".
