PTI's Faisal Vawda attacked in Karachi

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda's vehicle came under fire on Friday in the Delhi Colony area of the city, local media reported.
"Unknown assailants opened fire on my car upon which my guards retaliated," Vawda told DawnNews.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took notice of the incident and requested a report from Inspector-General Police (IGP) A.D. Khawaja.
"Total six bullets were fired at the car," said senior PTI leader Imran Ismail, adding that the gunmen were just a few metres away from the car.
"The gunmen opened fire on Vawda from his side and then I was fired upon from the opposite side. I told Vawda to 'accelerate the car, we're under attack'."
Both Vawda and Ismail escaped unhurt.
In May 2013, PTI Vice-President Sindh chapter, Zahra Shahid Hussain, was killed in an attempted robbery incident on the eve of re-polls in Karachi’s NA-250 constituency.
According to police, three motorcycle riders tried to steal Hussain’s handbag and opened fire upon resistance by the PTI leader outside her residence in the city’s Defence Housing Authority Phase-IV.
Senior police officer Nasir Aftab had said the incident appeared to be a purse-snatching attempt that went wrong.

Who could it be? MQM or PML N? Bottom line is a full cleanup operation in Pakistan is required because no one and I repeat no one is safe in the country any longer and we are all being held hostage by interest groups and mafias of every conceivable type....

whatever political disputes if any have must be faced professionally but not with bullets. This bullet system must go now... it is too much... let people allow to live with peace. let fear,harm, disputes go away....

Politely disagree. There may be sporadic incidents here and there but this mafia culture does not exist in places like Islamabad or Lahore or even Hyderabad Sindh. In fact you could say every city has its own culture. Someone born and raised in Islamabad may not feel at home in Peshawar or Quetta and vice versa
Karachi has been burning (sectarian violence, target killings, kidnappings etc.) for as long as I can remember. It used to be a peaceful city in the 60s and 70s (my mother taught at P.E.C.H.S before marriage) but sadly not anymore. I don't know whose more at fault the natives (for staying silent for so long), the stakeholders (PPP waderas, MQM) or the outsiders (mainly people from KPK) for this mess but they have turned this once peaceful city into a nightmare for everyone.
Agree, rangers operation should not only continue in Karachi but be also extended to rural Sindh and other troubled parts of the country such as Southern Punjab

Fro your information brother, We are all Pakistanis and there no one is a "outsider". We can choose to live anywhere we want. I stand corrected. Sorry I did not mean it in a bad way. Islamabad has people from all parts of the country living peacefully together since the 60s, there has never been any problem; The culture is so different. Perhaps Karachi's problem is that ghaat ghaat ke log have arrived there in search of work, labour etc. i.e. more people than the city can easily accommodate or absorb giving rise to mafias, gangs, ghettos etc. We see this culture in many other big cities as well such as Mumbai, New York and even London.

just saw the news... Amjad sabri was hit on the face .... Faisal Vawda's vehicle was bullet proof but the target killers did not hit single bullet on the windows and front screen and all the shoots r near the tires and bottom sides .... amazing
