MINGORA Two schoolchildren were killed when a truck hit them at a roadside in Palam area of Bahrain tehsil on Thursday.

According to Madyan police , two children identified as Zeeshan Khan and Awais Khan succumbed to the injuries they sustained after being hit by a speeding truck at Palam area when they were going back home after attending school.

Police official said that both the children were students of grade-4 and trying to get to the other side of the road when all of a sudden a truck (NO 8285) crushed them to death.

“The truck was in a high speed when a pickup came in its way. The driver blindly turned the lorry to the side where the children were walking and hit them,” said an eyewitness.

The residents took to the streets demanding immediate arrest of the driver. The police arrested the driver identified as Zulfiqar Khan, after a brief search and lodged an FIR against him.
