ISLAMABAD: The Steering Committee on the Development of Integrated Transit Trade Management System (ITTMS) on Thursday reviewed the progress on the decisions taken during the last meeting as well as current situation of the project.

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar chaired the meeting which was informed by FBR Chairman Nisar M. Khan that it was on an advanced stage of finalising the lease agreement for land acquisition at Torkham and Wagha.

Secretary Economic Affairs Division Tariq Bajwa informed the committee that in case of completion of civil and other works under the project, all contracts have been awarded through international competitive bidding in line with the ADB guidelines.

Mr Dar expressed satisfaction on the progress of the work so far completed and issued directions to expedite the progress on the remaining work. “The completion of the project will make Pakistan the trade and transit hub of central and south Asia.”
