KARACHI: The Pakistan Rangers Sindh on Wednesday arrested a chairman of a union council over his alleged involvement in an attack on a private TV channel office on Monday in the busy Zainab Market area.

The paramilitary force apprehended Asif Siddiqi, the chairman of union council-22 in Ranchhor Line, according to a spokesperson for the Rangers.He was involved in the attack on the ARY TV channel office on Aug 22, added the official.

The held suspect was handed over the Artillery Maidan police for further legal action. The Rangers spokesperson in the statement added: “The Muttahida Qaumi Movement should approach the police station concerned for casting his (Asif Siddiqi) vote in the local bodies elections.”
