CHARSADDA: Six people were killed in different incidents here on Sunday, police and locals said.

A married woman was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Shaheed Banda area of Shabqadar. The victim was identified as wife of Khan Bacha.

Separately, local divers and rescue workers recovered the body a 30-year-old unidentified man from the Khyali River. The victim was hanged to death and the body was thrown in the river, police said.

The police said the body of a heroin addict was found in the Shabaqadar Bazaar. He was identified as Abdur Rehman, resident of Hangu district.

A man committed suicide in Abazai village of Tangi. He was identified as Zaid. The motive behind the incident could not be ascertained.

In yet another incident, a young man drowned in the Upper Swat Canal. Rescue workers fished out the body from the canal. The victim was identified as Ahmad Ali, resident of Dhakki, Ameerabad.

The police said, a second-year student drowned in the Kyali River on Sunday. The victim identified as Mohammad Nasir, resident of Basheerabad, Peshawar, had gone to the riverside along with friends for picnic.

Local divers recovered the body from the river after hectic efforts and handed it over to family. The police registered the cases under different sections of the law and launched investigations.
