LAHORE: Justice Mian Saqib Nisar of the Supreme Court on Saturday took oath as acting chief justice of Pakistan.

Justice Asif Saeed Khosa administered oath to Justice Nisar at a ceremony held at Lahore registry of the apex court.

Supreme Court judges, including Justice Gulzar Ahmad, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed, Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman, Justice Umar Ata Bandial, Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik and Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, attended the ceremony.

Lahore High Court Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah and other judges of the court also graced the occasion.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali is out of the country.
