PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KPCCI) on Friday urged Bank of Khyber (BoK) to introduce loan schemes for small traders and industrialists to help revive businesses in the militancy-hit province, a statement said.
A KPCCI delegation, led by its acting president Emad Rasheed, met with BoK Head of Islamic Banking Group, Atif Hanif and Islamic Microfinance Head, Abdul Qudoos in this regard.
Mr Rasheed stressed that BoK should introduce two separate loan schemes for small and medium enterprises and the industrial sector so that they could get financial support of Rs2-5 million.
He also suggested release of agriculture loans to help industrialists purchase raw material including wheat flour and sugarcane.
The bankers assured the KPCCI delegation of extending full cooperation in this regard.
