QUETTA: Chief Minister of Balochistan Sanaullah Zehri has called for early implementation of the plan to convert all tubewells of agriculture sector to solar system without any delay.

Talking to a delegation of growers here the other day, the chief minister advised the officials concerned to take the growers and agriculturalists into confidence on progress to convert the tubewells to solar system.

He said with this plan, his government would save electricity for common people and also a substantial amount of money being paid as subsidy for energising and using power for agriculture.

Ministers, including Sardar Aslam Bizenjo, Nawab Mohammad Khan Shahwani and Dr Hamid Achakzai, the chief executive of Qesco and the power secretary were also present on the occasion.

The chief minister announced that the cost of the entire system would be borne by the federal and provincial govern­ments as well as growers.
