QUETTA: Suspected militants on Tuesday killed four police officials in the provincial capital’s Kechi Baig and Hazar Ganji area.

In the first attack, a police vehicle was shot in Kechi Baig area on Sariab road. Two police officials were killed in the attack.

Both police personnel received multiple bullet injuries and a passer-by was also wounded in the attack.

Another attack on a police vehicle took place in the Hazar Ganji area. Suspected militants shot at the car of a Station House Officer (SHO), killing the police guard and driver of the officer.

The suspects escaped from the scene of the attack in both instances.

The bodies of the slain police officials were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta for postmortem.

Militants have conducted attacks against security forces and national installations in Balochistan, which has been plagued by an insurgency and growing sectarian killings for more than a decade.
