LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) retired Capt Amin Wains on Sunday appreciated the policemen and city district government workers deployed for the security of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) public meeting here.

He said intelligence reports suggested that members of banned outfits could attack the PTI gathering, but policemen had proved they could counter any challenge.

The CCPO said he and all divisional superintendents of police personally checked security points and briefed policemen to ensure foolproof security for all participants of the gathering.

He lauded the efforts of security personnel for standing against alleged nefarious designs of terrorist organisations.
