A few years ago, a group of researchers launched a long-term study of the ways that state of mind can affect performance at work. According to the results of a global survey of 740 business leaders, 84pc said that they experienced stress on a regular basis.
But while more than half of those leaders said that stress had a negative impact on their effectiveness, about 25pc said that stress actually improved their effectiveness.
