KOHAT: An intelligence agency with the help of local police arrested an alleged terrorist wanted by Karachi police in acts of terrorism and attacks on security personnel from Bazidkhel here on Thursday.

The district security branch got the information that a wanted terrorist was present in a house in Bazidkhel area. He was hiding since 2012 and declared proclaimed offender by Karachi police.

The alleged terrorist, identified as Mohammad Iqbal was arrested in a raid on the house. He was also wanted to police in a murder case of policemen and the Sindh government had issued his arrest warrants. He was taken to an unknown place for interrogation. The local police said that he would be soon handed over to Karachi police.

Meanwhile, the police arrested an alleged thief here on Thursday who had stolen pistols and cartridges after breaking a shop in Bara market. The victim, Vaqar Hussain, had informed Saddar police that one Tahir Khan had stolen 37 pistols and 3,850 cartridges from his shop. They raided the house of Tahir in Khattak Colony and arrested him and recovered the pistols and cartridges from his possession.

Saddar police have handed over the accused to the City police for further interrogation after registration of a case against him.
