LAHORE: Yet another westerly wave is likely to enter Pakistan through Balochistan on Wednesday evening and move mainly to over upper parts of the country, generating heavy downpour and causing possible landslides in Malakand and Hazara divisions and Azad Kashmir, areas already battered by two recent consecutive spells of rainy weather.

According to a fresh weather advisory issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department on Tuesday, the fresh westerly weather system is likely to enter Balochistan on Wednesday evening and may spread over to KP, Fata and Punjab on Thursday.

Under the influence of the system, scattered rain-thundershowers are likely in Balochistan on Thursday and Friday.

Widespread rain-thundershowers (with isolated heavy rains) are expected in Fata, KP and Kashmir from Thursday to Saturday.

Scattered rain-thundershowers are likely in Islamabad, upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore and Faisalabad divisions) from Thursday (evening night) to Sunday.

Isolated rain/thunderstorm is also expected in south Punjab (Bahawalpur, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan) upper Sindh (Sukkur and Larkana) on Thursday night to Friday.

Rain-thundershowers in upper Punjab and KP may be accompanied by isolated hailstorm.

During rains, there will be high risks of landsliding in vulnerable areas of Malakand, Hazara divisions and Kashmir on Friday and Saturday.
