Bangladesh urge ICC to lift Taskin ban

DHAKA: Bangladesh have appealed to cricket's world governing body to lift the suspension on paceman Taskin Ahmed, who was ruled out of the ongoing World Twenty20 in India due to an illegal action.

Taskin and left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny were suspended from bowling in international cricket on Saturday after being reported by match officials following Bangladesh's qualifying match against the Netherlands in Dharamsala on March 9.

While Sunny's elbow extension for the majority of his deliveries exceeded the 15-degree limit, not all of Taskin's balls were found to be legal, the International Cricket Council (ICC) said while announcing their suspensions.

“We are not convinced about Taskin as of now. We don't have any reason to be satisfied with the report,” Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hassan told reporters. “And that's disappointing, so we have appealed to the ICC.

“They are going to sit down with a team of legal experts and will inform us of their decision as soon as possible.”

Bangladesh, who came through the qualifiers to reach the Super 10 stage, lost to Pakistan in their opening Group Two match last Wednesday and next face Australia in Bangalore on Monday.

India and New Zealand are the other teams in the pool with the top two advancing to the semi-finals.

Bangladesh have appealed to cricket's world governing body to lift the suspension on paceman Taskin Ahmed...plz let icc do their job..if they find the action suspicuos through 3D cameras in laboratory then they will ban him..if not then he will be ready to bowl again

The worst thing is that every Bangladeshi thinks that it is an Indian conspiracy because Mustafa Kamal exposed the role of Indians in ICC in Australia during last world cup. But they should be careful in protesting.

Banning Taskin is completely unacceptable. He's been bowling for years, and no such allegation raised against him so far. Why now? The whole process of examination and report of ICC is questionable. Its a matter of great concern that ICC has doomed. Bangladesh should boycott the WC-T20.

well dear non big 3 if you come find a bowler who big 3 finds threatening in any way shape and form they will find something suspicious their action now bengalis will smell the coffee we lost Hafeez, Ajmal and others but chucking masters Ashwin and Harbajan seem to work their magic on 3D cameras

@immo - Don't forget that India recently won the Asia Cup which was played in Bangladesh. The final was against Bangladesh and Taskin Ahmed was playing in the game. He managed to take only one wicket and that too when the match was already lost by Bangladesh. In the first match of the Asia Cup Taskin failed to take any wickets against India. So it would actually be in India's interest to have Taskin in the team against India if he performs like this.

Unable to understand that why such all bowlers are not examined in their first matches...why they all watched at main events...? How interesting when Saeed Ajmal reached on top of ICC ranking than he noticed? when Adul Hafeez reached on top as all rounder than he noticed? Yaser shah (dop test) noticed when he performing his best career bowling...? Imad waseem when he did his career best bowling than he notice? What the hell it is..? This is also surprised, not any English as well Indian bowler came even into suspected rather ban? This is also kind of match fixing... isn't?

Dear Bangladesh Fans - Even if you have Taskin you can't win against AUS, IND, NZ. Why You make these Bangladesh make over seen. Your team not like PAK, already we demolish your team. Whenever we play in Bangladesh you peoples make so much stupid things. Bangladesh winning against big teams very rarely. Your team wont come like PAK, IND, AUS. Your team always a small team. You try to win small teams like omen, UAE, Netherland, Scotland. Dont be Dreams to win major tournament like Worldcup, Championstrophy etc. Dont tour any other countries like UAE, AUS, IND ,SL, etc.. You cant win in other countries, You can win only in your country with small teams like UAE, Omen. Last time u beat big countries (Pak, Ind, SA) that is totaly fluke and luck, Here after it will not happen, even You cant beat big countries(PAK, IND, SA) in Bangladesh. So stop crying for Taskin. Play rest of the games with taskin or without taskin. All the best for losing rest of the games.

Ajmal was part of the team when Indian won twice in 2012, 14 WT20s and when India chased down 320 odd in asia cup 2012. He couldn't save 20 against a left hander even with a suspect action.

ICC rule should be used impartially for all players.Umpires should also given freedom to use the rule wherever it apply without any fair of loosing their job.Otherwise the wonderful game will not flourish and suspicion will increase among supporters day by day.

ind defeated BD with Taskin twice recently, so why they would be afraid to face him now. Is he a changed bowler overnite. I never see SA WI or for that sake NZ complain about the big 3. Losers always find excuses to convince themselves that the have lost due to non cricketing reasons and as a result makes no progress.

Rather than playing nonsense politics, Bangladesh should look at the data and ask Taskin to bowl rather than chucking. Once that is sorted out, he can play. Everything else being said here is bollocks.
