ISLAMABAD: To discourage use of unfair means in B.A., B.Sc and B.Com examination, the capital administration has imposed a ban on gatherings near the centres.

Students, appearing in examination, were, however, exempted from the ban, sources told Dawn on Friday. The exams commenced on March 15.

According to a notification issued from the office of District Magistrate, the district administration has sufficient ground to impose CrPC Section 144 to prevent the candidates them cheating in the exams.

The notification says: “No person other than bona fide candidates of the examination holding roll number from the controller of examinations, university of the Punjab or those members of staff/teachers of that or any other institution where examination is being held shall enter an area of 200 yards around examination centers .”

The order will remain operation till the examination is over, it stated, adding that violator the order shall be liable to be punished under section 188 of CrPC.

B.A., B.Sc and B.Com examinations are being conducted by University of the Punjab in various educational institutions of Islamabad, the officials said.
