People have been too harsh on Malik. He has one of the best records as captain in t20s but unfortunately he has been out of form lately. Altogether, other than Amir and Bopara, Karachi had a weak side. They lacked a good foreign player in their team and players like Imad Wasim and Shakib were out of form.

It was in bad taste when Ravi Bopara criticized his own captain. It was highly commendable for Shoaib Malik to accept that he has failed to deliver and he has stepped down. In my opinion Bopara should not be made captain and Dilshan should be made captain of Karachi Kings.

This guy is full of surprises after scoring his first double hundred in test he announced retirement from test cricket now this. Hopefully PCB won't consider him to take over T20 captaincy after Afridi retirement and it will go to well deserving Sarfraz Ahmed who should also be captain in ODI.

It seems his cricketing career will end prematurely. If he is responsible for this decision then he did commit a blunder. Walking out halfway will hurt his career especially in the current scenario where new talent is all around. May be repeated failure has made him very nervous. Instead of standing firm to face the challenge he has opted to shy away, not becoming of a professional. I like him & I wish him a good cricketing future minus the hasty decision.

If he's not capable of leading a domestic side, he's no good to lead the national squad after Afridi's retirement.

Give me a break.....this guy is way too smart. So basically after his hand picked Sialkot/Karachi team performed poorly ,especially his fav Silkot players let him down,he gives over the reins of a poorly constructed team to poor Bopara.

I am surprised how come someone who does not belong to Karachi could represent Karachi team. Neither Shoaib Malik nor Bopara or majority of players in the team belong to Karachi. Sarfaraz Ahmed represents Quetta team who is Mohajir and belongs to Karachi. Isn't it funyy??

@Omar that would have been one boring boring ending. i like the way it is right now. Zalmi played extremely well through out the tournament and deserved a second chance which they have got eventually. Similarly Quetta outplayed every team in PSL and are the deserving finalists. Today's game will be equally interesting as both karachi and islamabad have struggled through out the tournament. my money's on Islamabad. Go Team Misbah!

This should be noted for future international matches...Malik is not capable to be a captain...I don't understand why ARY picked him...they should have picked Sarfaraz Ahmad...the captain of the team should be from the city the team represents.

Something odd about Malik recently. He seems demotivated, has been quitting a lot of things, seems indifferent, no emotion, seems tired. I don't know if everything is alright with him or if cricket no longer interests him.

What a nonsense!.A player who is not even in the playing squad of his country has been made captain to lead KK in a crucial match. Performance of Bopara after his magnificent innings of more than 70 runs and 5 wickets in a match should have raised eye brows as well.Cricket is a team game.It is team which wins or lose and not individuals.Performance based on team work and team spirit wins the game.The episode indicate that KK lacks team spirit and team work and there seems to be some 'group bandi'.Only captain is not responsible to create team spirit in a team which is playing together for the first time.In such a situation it is a better option to change the group of individuals rather than the captain.The decision seems to be,'half teeter and half batair',which has 75 percent chances of producing a failure.

Shohaib Malik is wrong man for wrong slot, present TV20 needed young, new blood & talent, Malik is old school of thought, It is a mistake of Karachi Kings Management to nominated malik, he was totally not in perform and particularly wrong time he used wrong bowler, secondly he has been barred from Pak team captaincy bcs he created his own group, puppet players, Ravi Boopara is 100% right to point out figure on team weakness and Malik wrong captain, it is good decision by King to remove him as captain.

Malik as been fired as Captain by team owner. The PCB need to show him the door as well as he is not for for international cricket, he can only score against minnows like Bangladesh and Zimbabawe.
