Pasni protection bund

Published February 14, 2016

PASNI is a beautiful tehsil of Gwadar district, located between Gwadar and Ormara. The people mostly depend on fishing.. Its population is about 150,000.

Pasni has been facing two main problems for quite some time. Sand mounds keep flowing towards the city. Recently, nearly 10 houses and the road from Eidgah to the old graveyard have been covered under sand mounds.

If the Shadi Kour river gets flooded during high tide, at least one-third of the population will be killed as they live in the vicinity of the river. Besides, there is no protection bund to protect the people. At least a four-km long bund is needed for their safety.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the Balochistan chief minister should look into these problems.
