SIALKOT: Three people were crushed to death and 11 others were injured seriously when a bus ran them over in city’s congested Hajipura-Ban Paatak locality on Saturday.

The people were standing at a stop when the bus ran them over, killing three on the spot and injuring others.

After this fatal accident, the locals got infuriated and held a protest demonstration against the incident.

They shattered all the windowpanes of the bus by hurling stones on it. They also tried to set the bus ablaze but a police contingent reached there and saved the bus from being torched.

Rescuers shifted the bodies and injured to a local hospital where the condition of four of the injured was stated to be critical.

Convocation: The Khwaja Muhammad Safdar Medical College (KMSMC) arranged a send-off for its first batch of 100 graduates on Saturday.

KMSMC Principal Prof Dr Zafar Ali Chaudhry said it was a sentimental farewell of the maiden batch.
