ISLAMABAD: Embassy of Pakistan in Jakarta organised a seminar to mark the Kashmir Solidarity Day on Friday.

The seminar, organised in collaboration with the Kashmir Solidarity Forum Indonesia (KSFI), was attended by students of universities, members of Pakistani community and media persons, says a press release received from Jakarta.

Ambassador of Pakistan Mohammad Aqil Nadeem spoke about the historical background of the Kashmir dispute.

Quoting various UN Resolutions, he urged the international community to push for the implementation of UN Security Council’s Resolutions which promise for a free plebiscite in Kashmir.

He described the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination as a fundamental human right. Pakistan would support the legitimate struggle of Kashmiri people with all available legal means, he added.

KSFI Chairman Dr Zahir Khan informed the gathering about atrocities and violence being carried out against the Kashmiri freedom struggle.

He urged the Indonesian people and international community to support the cause of self-determination.

A question-answer session was also held on the occasion.
