'Friends of PIA' mobile app launched to improve services

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) recently launched a mobile application for Android that specifically seeks feedback from flyers.

The app, named 'Friends of PIA,' allows users to rate their experience with the national carrier at any stage.

After registering for the first time, users can only proceed to rate the services once they enter their flight details.

Customers can then rate their experience with the carrier on ticketing and reservation, airport check-in, departure lounge facilities, baggage handling, transit transfer facilities, cabin comfort, in-flight entertainment, food and beverages, cabin crew courtesy, toilets.

The airline also promises 500 free air miles for those who successfully register on the app.

“PIA has taken this initiative to get feedback from its valued customers, aiming for improving the standard of its services,” says PIA spokesman Danyal Gilani.

The app is available for download on the Google Play store.

Not sure when the iOS will get one? - PIA online tickets are expensive than the local agents. Any idea what is happening. Why PIA is not trying to get rid of these middle parties and either get that benefit into their pocket or share with their customers.

Ha ha ha ... A dying airline refusing to change. Privatization ..privatization and privatization is the natural answer. How is it going to be acceptable to the arm forces personnel , who travel on substantially discounted tickets life long..:)

If a successful airline was doing this, it would make sense. PIA really doesnt need others to tell them what to do since they cant do the basics right. Things like flying on time, keeping aircraft safe, following rules on baggage for all travellers without bias, providing simple on flight service to all etc are the major issues from customer perspective. Reorg to staff according to needs from corporate perspective. What new learnings will they get from an app?
