KARACHI: The Karachi University Teachers’ Society (Kuts) on Monday called upon the university administration to uphold transparency in its affairs and look into the complaints of alleged malpractices and corruption.

The meeting of the society’s executive body was held in the backdrop of recent media reports indicating that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was to start inquiries into the alleged misuse of authority by the university vice chancellor.

The members expressed their concern over ‘the recent NAB announcements and the speculations reported in a section of the press’, says a press release.

The Kuts members said that teachers and educational institutions shouldn’t be subjected to a media trial prior to proving of the allegations.
