Wasim Akhtar is die heart worker of MQM, in MNA 2013 he has been deprived and seat given to Gabol who does not belong to urdu speaking and is rotate politician work for his personal interest, it is good luck for MQM sooner Gabool left than second mistake ticket for by election given to Kawar Naveed he not belong to Karachi, he is from HYD. Wasim Akhtar is right choice for Karachi.

Would he be able to work with PM Nawaz Sharif, whom he verbally abused and insulted? He is blindly loyal to MQM and Altaf Hussain, whereas a Mayor must be balanced and representative of all who live in Karachi. It is not a slight on him personally, I hope he can wipe the slate clean and start all over again. To be seen!

I hope MQM will change its style of politics now and the new mayor Waseem Akhtar will serve all people regardless their language, political association and areas they live. Now MQM needs to fight for revival of power of the mayor and finance to run the city.

Since Waseem Akhter nominated to be a Mayor of Karachi,but no powers, in handicapped system made by PPP,after imposing SLGA 2013.We will only congratulate Waseem after he get back his powers back from PPP. Waseem is advised to approach Sindh High Court for revival of his powers soon after his oath.

No excuse will work for MQM. They have to deliver as people of Karachi look up to them for results. Get to the job, use your resources and give Karachi the much awaited relief.

What can he do. Local government has no powers . They should start a sustained campaign for a separate province.

A wonderful decision from MQM high ups, especially its Chief Mr. Altaf Hussain. I have full hope and confidence that MQM Mayor and his team will surpass their own record. Waseem is a very competent and hardworking man and surely he will select team like Mustafa Kamal. MQM has no shortage of competent workers.

Congratulations and all the best wishes to Wasim Akhter for successes as a Mayor. Its unfortunate to see comments from countrymates that Wasim is a die heart worker of MQM or PPP or PMLN or PTI! Is this what we need for the Mayor of Karachi! We need a man who can deliver his job to the best of his abilities to Karachitte, that's it. One of the major issue Karachitte is facing is the short of water supply, which has a role of the Tank Mafia. Can we chalk out the plan that the water is supplied to every house connected to the water channel and not that the water comes to 3 houses of the street because water pipes are choked! Maybe chalk out 2-3 major plans that matters to most of us living in Karachi (I mentioned water supply, the second maybe the gun mafia etc) and I wish his all the best and wish that he comes out to be the best Mayor Karachi has ever seen. Please do not label him MQM worker after he has taken the oath of Karachi Mayor.

A good choice in Waseem Akhtar, a former home minister during the Musharaf Reign, he knows the in and outs of Karachi and will be as good as Mustafa Kamal to do a better job for the development of Karachi given the proper financial assistance Karachi needs by the Provincial Govt.
