CHITRAL: The residents of Baroghil valley here have made a frantic appeal to the federal government to rush to their rescue as the valley is imperiled by food crisis due to the early onset of winter and accumulation of over two feet snow.

Addressing a press conference here the other day, Baroghil village council nazim Amin Jan, naib nazim Ilyas Khan, councillor Nadir Khan and Baroghil-Yarkhoon Support Organisation chairman Umer Rafi said that weather condition in the valley was unusual and the food stock insufficient to last till the end of extended winter season.

They said that no replenishment of food items was possible during the winter season as it was disconnected from other parts of the district and in such a situation famine was feared in the valley.
